The Pillars of Creation don't exist anymore

"...I know that when we look up to the sky we are looking at the past—seconds, minutes, years,
centuries and millennia away. The Universe is the most amazing of the time machines.

But the fact that I understand all this doesn't matter. Every time I think about it, I experience
the same sensation. One of awe and humility. And also of wonderment, thinking that my own existence
and the existence of the people around me, the people I loved, the people I love, and the people
I will love, can't be seen yet from the vantage point of those pillars. If there's a spaceship around
those space coordinates using magic telescopes capable of focusing on Earth and seeing details,
they wouldn't know of our existence unless they wait for 7,000 years. For them, right now, we don't exist.

That's when I realize that we truly stand alone in the middle of this huge storm that is the Universe.
And every time I think about that, my friends, that's when my mind and my heart explode..."

John Foxx & Karborn & Barnbrook

John Foxx's B-Movie (Ballardian Video Neuronica) was recorded and assembled for a cut-up movie
by Foxx and Karborn inspired by the ideas and work of British writer J.G Ballard. Screened as part of
Brighton's Cine-City festival in late 2012, the pair presented 'a film and sound seance manifesting
J.G Ballard neurones. Mobilised by ultracolour and inframusic, anatomised hallucinogenetics
and proximity psychopathagens.' Barnbrook's artwork for the album features images created by Karborn.

Tonik Ensemble

“Winter in Iceland is always a funny thing. Extremes of only one or two hours of daylight during winter solstice.
A very moody, cold and dark atmosphere. That really projects in the music I’ve been listening to recently.
This year more than past years I’ve been listening to a lot of so called winter music. Both looking at what
I found interesting this year but also looking into older influences. Stuff like Andy Stott, Ben Frost and
Burial have resonated with me for the past few weeks. But between the cold blizzards there have been
truly serene moments and that kind of contrasts is something I am exploring in this mix. So in between
there is stuff such as Max Richter’s take on Vivaldi. This is a mix which can’t really decide where its going…
kinda like the weather.”
