'Waves' is the first single to be lifted from Max Cooper's second album 'Emergence'
'Emergence' is an epic, operatic, ambitious amalgamation between audio-visual show, scientific research project,
art installation and IDM record, the debut release on Max Cooper’s Mesh label and his second full-length release.
art installation and IDM record, the debut release on Max Cooper’s Mesh label and his second full-length release.
The record was conceived as a soundtrack to a new series of 11 pieces of video art, each exploring
a different facet of the concept of ‘emergence’. The full A/V live show will premiere at Mutek,
Japan on November 2nd 2016. Together the work is a marriage between the cosmic awe of a Carl Sagan film
and the musical wonderment of Sigur Ros, made for meditating on the mystery of our emotional
connection to fundamental natural form.

Composed by: David August
Conductor: Norbert Nagel
Orchestra: Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin (DSO)
Performed and recorded at: Radialsystem V Berlin
Here we see David August flexing his musical muscles in a collaborative project with Deutsches Symphonie Orchester
Berlin and Frieder Nagel (who proposed the idea). A live performance in which he presents his musical composition
“X - Poème Symphonique”; a poem that relies upon melodies and musical performance, instead of words, to express itself.
The performance showcases a 50 piece classical symphonic orchestra, coupled with the electronic arsenal
of the two musicians. A hybrid force, for which both artists have composed a full 50-minute symphony,
- a feat arguably done for the first time ever.
Performed at Radialsystem V in Berlin, we’re stoked to present coverage of this stunning performance.
Sit back and feel your jaw drop.
